This year I am pregnant which is making it that much worse. Just a smell of those spices, or a picture on a box and I am hooked already. Another little fact about me is that I hate being generic. I have to have a different recipe for everything than everyone else, I always “spike” mine with this and that so it is my recipe alone. At first I hesitated to share my secrets but why shouldn’t everyone have the best?
Over 23 million people in the United States suffer with the disease and face scary complications such as heart and kidney disease, stroke, blindness, neuropathy, and amputation or even death. Some in the statistics we read about include small children who live different lives than the rest of us trying to stay as healthy as they can. Some more than others, but still most do. Maddie is no different. Before she could even speak well, she had honed in on our spelling of the word and started calling it by those three letters. She would ask for i-c-e. We figured that since she knew what we were spelling, we may as well call it [...]
One tasty benefit of summer is the large, beautiful zucchinis you can purchase (or grow) from the farm. Some may not realize the potential for one of these monster zucchinis as they are not the most scrumptious to cook and serve. However, many bakers identify this as the time to break out their zucchini nut bread recipe! Why does it have to be a big, farm size zucchini you may wonder. It doesn’t have to be, but since they are not all that good for eating, they are great for [...]
You must love how the mind of a two year old works. It is so simple and yet so smart, the complete opposite of an adult’s. We have a recipe that has been in the family for probably fifteen years now, I know – not long compared to some hundred year old family recipes, but it’s long enough. It calls for only four ingredients but it is addicting and divine. We call them peanut butter balls, I call them peanut butter truffles as it sounds more sophisticated. How to make [...]
